As a charter member of the ultimate progressive band, Echolyn which saw major label success in the 90's and a dedicated (if not somewhat maniacal) fan base that lives to hear more of their music, Brett Kull remains an underground icon who knows great music and how to create it. His prowess on guitar is obvious but his Pop/Alternative songwriting only recently blossomed with the release of "Orange-ish Blue." The Beatle influences are not so much paraded as they are delicately displayed often (not unlike Badfinger) on this wonderful album.
Having been a member of the "heavier" last 5 year period with Grey Eye Glances, Brett contributed more influence than just guitar parts as the band rocked its way onto Mercury Records. Now on his own as a producer/engineer working with young bands/artists like Lisa Bodnar and bravetheday and as a solo artist, Brett continues to give us music to care about. Take notice of his new release - "Orange-ish Blue"" and see what we mean.

 | Orange-ish Blue "This is far removed from Echolyn's recent "Mei" opus. Instead Orange-ish Blue is an unassuming little album, very much song based and with a heavy emphasis on Kull's acoustic guitar. Kull's Echolyn colleagues drummer PAUL RAMSEY (also of Grey Eye Glances) and keyboardist CHRIS BUZBY both guest. There are some lovely tunes here, not least 'Mister Greenlight', 'So It Goes' and the gorgeous 'I Won't Say Goodbye'. A real treat."
