Simple Truth is the new album from London-based Irish songwriter Gary Dunne. Following on the success of his independently released debut Twenty Twenty Fiction in 2005, the latest offering is a collection of hard-hitting folk pop songs. The twelve tracks fuse chopped beats with organic, mature musicianship and maintain a unique and original voice throughout. Full to the brim with melody and heart, Simple Truth sits comfortably in the edgier realms of modern roots-based music.

Recorded in East London in 2007 and featuring musical contributions from Paul Pilot, Duke Special and Sadpaw.

More about Gary Dunne

Originally from Portlaoise in the Irish midlands, Gary spent his formative musical yeas on the Irish circuit opening for Damien Rice, Paddy Casey and Damien Dempsey and more recently The Chalets.

Gary's music is original and infectious. His honest, straightforward delivery is refreshing and rings through on debut album Twenty Twenty Fiction, released in Ireland on Gary's own label Honest Records.

The album went straight into the Top 20 and both singles Amerikan Folk Song and chart hit Jennifer became radio favourites, playlisted on all the national stations.

Following an extensive Irish tour and numerous TV/radio appearances on Pat Kenny/Tom Dunne/ TV3/RTE 2 and many others, Gary went on to play at many of this summer's top festivals, including the Secret Garden in the UK with the Super Furry Animals. Gary's final live appearance of the summer of 2006 was to 100,000 people at O2 in the Park in Dublin.

2006 saw a UK release of Twenty Twenty Fiction followed by an extensive tour of the UK and Ireland. Latest news on garydunne.com.
