Comparing one band to another is one of the standard ways to explain an artist's music when you have to use words to get the point accross. Listening to St. Mars, I think of the original Roxy Music in that their identity is just as strong, perhaps not as bruding - or I hear early 10CC since they have an unmistakable sound as well. St. Mars may not sound exactly like either but put them both together and you come close. I'll have to admit that it took a few listens to get the full impact of St. Mars - but from that point on I was and continue to be astounded by their music. Every time I hear any of their songs I find more and more to absorb - and that's the mark of a true artist.
