About Trisha O'Keefe
Her lyrics invite you in...her vocals make you wanna stick around.
Trisha O'Keefe, an engaging 22-year-old singer/songwriter, brings together passionate vocals, intelligent lyrics and irresistible melodies. She is capable of expanding her musical range into a powerful rock sound, without ever losing sight of her acoustic roots.
She's not just another girl with a guitar…she is a true songsmith, who takes on her life's stories with a certain blend of whimsy and sadness. Commanding each performance with a captivating nature, like that of a seasoned veteran, she takes the stage with a graceful demeanor, and with guitar in hand, invites the audience into a world of her most personal thoughts, a gift that might often elude a young woman of 21. She holds you spellbound with a voice that is both passionate and evocative, exposing her deepest pains and greatest joys with an intensity that begs to be listened to.
With an impressive 9-year career to her credit, O'Keefe has been making a lot of noise on the national music scene. She was accepted to acclaimed conservatory, Berklee College of Music, in 2002 and received both a Songwriting and Vocal scholarship. She decided instead to put college on hold, and maintained a steady momentum with her music career. Validation for that decision came in 2003, when songs from her independently-released CD "All The Honest Liars" became feature music on the ABC Daytime Drama "All My Children". The national exposure continued when in May 2005, she was selected to be a vocalist on the new Coke Zero commercial "ChillTop", with artist G Love.
Melissa Etheridge and Alanis comparisons aside, O'Keefe has been praised for her soaring vocals and intimate writing style and has graced the stages of Philadelphia venues The Tin Angel, The Point, North Star Bar, World Cafe Live, Steel City Coffeehouse, and famed NYC clubs CBGB and The Bitter End. Trisha is probably best known for her recent work on the singer-songwriter compilation "XYX" (Mad Dragon Records). As a part of "XYX", O'Keefe played a "Free At Noon" concert in April sponsored by Philadelphia radio station WXPN, and performed at the WXPN "All About The Music" Festival to an audience of 5,000+. "XYX" is available nationally through Ryko Distribution. O'Keefe continues to garner many opportunities and accolades for her music, and has been in publications such as the Philadelphia Daily News, Amplifier Magazine, The Village Voice, Pulse Weekly, and was featured on the cover of the Philadelphia Metro.
Whether she's performing solo or with her live band, she is sure to please, and sure to ROCK.
Trisha O'Keefe is a vibrant performer, a powerful vocalist, and a delicate poet,
who is certain to cause the music world to stand up and take notice.
